Requirements
- Any modern browser with WebGL (all current desktop and mobile browsers); the board/table games fall back to 2D without it
- Any static web host. Serve over http(s) — some games use ES modules or a Web Worker, which browsers block for pages opened from disk
Quick start
- Unzip the package.
- Upload the
arcade/folder to your web host, for example as/arcade/. - Open
https://your-site.com/arcade/index.html— the launcher shows every game; each card opens the game.
Local test: run python3 -m http.server 8080 inside arcade/ and open http://localhost:8080/index.html.
Every game folder also works on its own: upload only arcade/games/<game>/ and open its index.html.
File structure
arcade/index.html | Launcher page: grid of games with cover art and filter chips. |
|---|---|
arcade/assets/covers/ | Cover image of each game (800 × 500 WebP). |
arcade/assets/fonts/ | Launcher fonts (Inter, Unbounded — OFL). |
arcade/games/<game>/ | One complete, standalone game per folder (its own index.html, code, assets, fonts and libraries). |
documentation/index.html | This documentation. |
LICENSE.txt · THIRD-PARTY.txt · CHANGELOG.md | Licence terms, bundled components, version history. |
Customise & rebrand
Launcher
Edit arcade/index.html: title, intro text, colours (:root variables), the cards (one <li class="card"> per game; remove a card to hide a game) and the filter chips (data-cat on each card). Replace a cover by saving a new 800 × 500 image under the same name in assets/covers/.
Games
Each game is documented in its own single-game package. In short: the board and table games (Air Hockey, 8-Ball Pool, Connect Four, Chess, Backgammon) have a settings block window.GAME_CONFIG in their index.html (menu texts, difficulty levels, colours, backUrl for the "← All games" link) and gameplay constants at the top of games/<id>/game.js. Neon Tower, Neon Orbit and Bonk Arena keep all code in their index.html; the tuning tables (TYPES, ZONES, TIERS…) sit near the top of the script.
Art and sound
All pictures, models and sounds are plain files in each game's assets/ folder — replace them keeping the names and formats.
FAQ
Does it need a server or database?
No. All games are static HTML, CSS and JavaScript and run on any web host. Nothing is loaded from other websites.
Can I use only some of the games?
Yes. Every game folder is standalone; remove the cards you do not need from the launcher.
Is there online multiplayer?
The games play against the computer, and several also offer two players on one device. Online play can be added with your own server — ask us for a quote.
Does it work on phones?
Yes. Every game has touch controls and adapts to portrait and landscape screens.
What is the difference between Licence and Full source?
Licence = one end product (yours or one client's). Full source = one production domain for you and your clients, including white-label, paid games and SaaS. Neither allows reselling the games or their source on their own.
Support & updates
Updates are free. Questions are answered for 6 months after purchase (12 months with Full source) — write to hello@vortaxis.com or use vortaxis.com/store. Custom games, your own art or online play: ask for a quote.
